Dzmitry Andreyeu is a blacksmith, born in Minsk, Republic of Belarus in 1989. The main spheres of work are the following: traditional hand forging, weapon forging, blacksmith and woodworking tools, ancient metallurgy technology, Damascus steel, wrought iron. Dzmitry took up blacksmithing at the age of 16. In 2012, Dzmitry graduated from the Energy Construction Department of the Belarusian National Technical University. Dzmitry is a member of the Belarusian Union of Folk Art Masters since 2013. In 2017-2019 Dzmitry worked as a teacher at the Minsk College of Arts and Crafts. In 2021 Dzmitry defended a master’s degree in metallurgy. His thesis are based on the ancient techniques of metallurgy in Eastern Europe. Dzmitry is an author of several scientific articles on technological process of ancient metallurgy. Dzmitry took part in the international plein-airs on artistic forging and international festivals of blacksmith art in Germany, Spain, Israel, Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia. In 2021-2022 Dzmitry collaborated with the Republican Laboratory of Historical and Cultural Heritage of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Dzmitry collaborated with the National Historical Museum and other historical museums of the Republic of Belarus. Dzmitry is a manager of exhibition projects based on the history of blacksmithing.
